Nafir pendant

March 19, 2013

Karim Rashid explores the connection between light and sound in his new pendant light for AXO Light, the Nafir pendant.

In the design of his new pendant light for AXO Light, New York-based product and interior designer, Karim Rashid, has explored the connection between light and sound.

Taking its name and formal inspiration from a North African trumpet, Nafir features Rashid’s characteristic fluid lines – with a long, slender form that widens at its base. The collection features LED lighting, and is designed to emit focused, downwards light rather than diffused illumination.

Nafir features a chrome or white exterior, with white or gold interior options, and comes as individual pendants or in a cluster of three.

Available through Mondo Luce and Studio Italia
