Spun lamps

September 5, 2011

A playful yet timeless lighting collection inspired by the spinning top, designed by The Evie Group.

The Spun light has been created by Sydney-based design studio, The Evie Group. The design pays tribute to the form of a classic wooden toy, the spinning top, and is the latest piece to be added to the studio’s range of simple, timeless pieces.

The design features a curving silhouette and flush finishes, giving the piece a smooth and elegant surface reminiscent of the traditional toy design. The frosted glass shade is contrasted by the polished mirror surfaces in brass and silver colours, casting different light effects around the room and reflecting the light’s surroundings.

The frosted glass shade is secured in place with a screw method rather than exterior screws or fasteners. A simple twist of the shade allows access to the LED lighting when necessary.

The playful collection is available as a table, floor or pendant light.

Designed by Alex Gilmour and Dominic Chong of The Evie Group.
