Ben + Flo

August 21, 2012

Drawing inspiration from the delicate yet strong paper folds of origami, Ben + Flo is a freestanding steel table base designed by Enoki.

Ben + Flo is a freestanding table base created by Adelaide-based design studio, Enoki.

Inspired by the delicate yet strong folded paper constructions of origami, Ben + Flo explores ideas of transformation: the ways in which simple materials and techniques can produce something altogether different. Ben + Flo uses sheet metal and basic metal folding techniques to produce a sturdy, minimal and elegant table base. Though crafted from a slim metal sheet, the bends and folds in the surface create shadow and dimension – giving the end product a sculptural aesthetic.

Manufactured in South Australia from Australian steel, Ben + Flo is designed and made locally to avoid off-shore manufacturing and minimise the impact of transportation. Available in black, white, red and grey, with custom colours on request.
