Matthew Hilton’s modern Windsor chairs

July 7, 2011

A contemporary collection inspired by the classic Windsor chair, created by British designer Matthew Hilton.

British designer Matthew Hilton will further the evolution of an English icon with his new collection of Windsor chairs.

Hilton has created five new chairs that reinterpret the classic Windsor chair. In their new, contemporary guise, walnut and ash timber are crafted using the traditional chair-making techniques. Named Burnham, Fawley, Hastoe, Ibstone and Kimble, the collection takes its names from the neighbouring villages of High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire – the home of the Windsor chair.

Hilton’s collection is distributed exclusively by Portuguese brand, De La Espada and will be available in Australia through Spence & Lyda from August.
