Moooi Emperor Light

March 16, 2011

Inspired by an ancient folk story, the Moooi Emperor Light celebrates traditional Chinese craftsmanship.

Designers Neri & Hu drew inspiration from an ancient folk story about an Asian Emperor and his nightingale when designing the Emperor Light for Moooi. The tale tells the story of an Emperor, who kept his nightingale in a majestic hand-woven bamboo cage so that he could listen to the enchanting sound of the birdsong.

The Emperor Light celebrates traditional Chinese craftsmanship. Each cage is made from hand-woven bamboo and rattan, with a glass diffuser. Available in black and red, the light comes in three sizes: 40x60cm, 60x100cm and 90x160cm.

The Moooi Emperor Light is available through Space Furniture.
