Marc Newson’s range of Smeg kitchen appliances will be launched at DesignEX this April.

Renowned Australian designer Marc Newson has designed a new range of kitchen appliances for Smeg Australia, which will be launched at DesignEX this April.

Newson is well known for his product, furniture and aircraft design. His collaboration with Smeg is the designer’s first foray into designing domestic appliances.

The Marc Newson range of ovens and hobs come in a bold range of colours including yellow, green and blue as well as black, white and stainless steel, and features the trademark soft lines of Smeg appliances. The electric pyrolytic (for the yellow, blue and green ovens) and vapour clean ovens (black, stainless steel and white ovens) are paired with gas hobs and induction cooktops.

The range has been awarded the Good Design 2010 award by the Chicago Athenaeum, and was also voted best domestic appliance by the Wallpaper Magazine Design Awards in 2009.

The range incorporates energy saving technology, including an eco cooking function with power saving consumption, an eco pyrolitic process and eco logic limited power consumption mode.
