Brave New World lamp

December 22, 2010

A timber lamp created by Freshwest for Moooi’s latest collection of lights.

Originally presented at Milan Design Week in 2009, Moooi has just released the Brave New World lamp in its new lighting collection.

Designed for Moooi by Welsh designers Freshwest, the lamp stands at 1.8 metres high, is made of notched and pegged timber strips and has two cast-iron counter weights. Brave New World started out as a concept piece and followed the example of Far Eastern bamboo scaffolding as it was developed without a design or plan.
