Magic Carp-et

December 8, 2010

A new concept design from John Leung brings home interiors to life with an animated rug.

In a new design from ClarkeHopkinsClarke Architects and John Leung, when the rug is viewed through a specially designed glass coffee table, an animation of carp appears through a moire effect.

The graphic apparition, designed to replace the traditional fish tank, is also acknowledges the decreasing abundance of water.

Linguistically, the carp featured in the rug’s design becomes a humorous extraction of the “carpet” that reveals this intriguing little conversational piece.
