Ovale Dinnerware

September 10, 2010

A simplistic range of dinnerware by Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec for Alessi.

The Ovale range of dinnerware by French designers Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec is based on an organic oval form, creating a simplistic collection.

The series includes a collection of subtly asymmetrical china dishes and covered containers, glassware, and an ice bucket and serving pieces made of mirror-polished stainless steel.

The range was created in collaboration with Italian company Alessi. The collection strives to be original, yet rustic and traditional – “we set out in pursuit of delicate expression,” explains Ronan Bouroullec. “The composition speaks about everyday life, about breakfast, lunch, about everyone getting together for dinner. There is a desire for simplicity.”
