Haymes Paint has launched an iPhone application that makes it easy for design professionals to use any colour they choose for project or forecast inspiration.

Users can take a photo of any colour around them, launch the app and view suggested colour palettes and complementary schemes generated by the program. The app helps designers with colour visualisation, encouraging users to be more adventurous with their designs.

The program also allows architects and designers to draw inspiration from everyday things around them, capturing the colours as they see them and recording sources of inspiration.

Holly Rickard, an interior designer working with Watson Young Architects/Interiors, has been using the app and says the program helps in meetings with clients, helping them visualise colour hues if they are uncertain about a certain colour specification or direction.

Users can save colours, automatically generate colour schemes and email information to your computer. Haymes Professional website specifiers can also request colour brush outs using the program.

The app can be downloaded for free from the iPhone app store or the iTunes store.
