Vintage bookshelf

December 14, 2009

The traditional form of the bookshelf is silhouetted against clean, classic lines in Jaren Goh’s Vintage bookshelf.

Singapore-based manufacturer, Munkii, has launched the Vintage bookshelf, designed by Jaren Goh. The design looks at the relationship between contemporary furniture pieces and their classic precedents, described by the designer as a “unison of the past and the present”.

The baroque curves of the traditional bookshelf are encased within the simple, clean lines of the exterior, fusing traditional and contemporary form. The dark mahogany colour used inside the shelf creates a silhouette against the white exterior, recalling the rich colours of traditional furniture pieces.

Vintage is hand crafted from medium-density fibreboard.
