URBAN FUTURES: Ideas of the City

URBAN FUTURES is five-week exhibition at the UTS Gallery presenting a body of architectural and urban work representative of some of the most internationally innovative spatial and material thinking today.

Interested in the concept of change and transformation in cities, URBAN FUTURES involves architectural practitioners working and teaching across the globe: London, Singapore, Berlin, Mumbai, Rotterdam, Melbourne and Sydney.

The exhibition is a rich collection of Architectural models, drawings and diagrams –the product of a series of yearlong workshops undertaken by advanced students of architecture at the Architectural Association in London.

New parametric software and innovative production systems have been utilised to explore ‘renewable’ building types and projects able to negotiate the rapidly changing circumstances of cities such as Sydney in an era of global capitalism.
