Brisbane-based designer Jason Bird will be travelling to New York City in May 2010 to showcase the designs from his award-winning company, Luxxbox, at the 22nd Annual International Convention Furniture Fair (ICFF).
Luxxbox designs on show will include the Brainwash Collection, a series of stools, tables and benches designed for contemporary café culture; the Phase pendant light design; the Tingle range of outdoor seating inspired by fizzing lollies; and Radii, a table and stool series with inbuilt storage.
Luxxboxs latest designs the Haven pendant light, Watch Out pendant light, 1Eighth bench, and Chunk Monitor stand and cable management will also debut at the fair.
Luxxbox, along with Australian rug specialists Cadrys who will be displaying their Florence Broadhurst range, are the only two Australian companies to make it through the selection process and be offered exhibition space at the event.
The ICFF is North Americas singular showcase for leading contemporary design. Over 500 designers and exhibitors will display furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, material, wall coverings, accessories, textiles and kitchen and bath fittings to 24,000 visitors at the four-day event.
Luxxbox was founded in 2006 by Industrial Designer Jason Bird. The company. is committed to supporting Queensland and Australian manufacturers and in doing so is continually evolving its design and production techniques. As a result, Luxxbox products embody a uniquely Australian influence that is appreciated across the globe for its refreshing take on modern, cutting edge design.
The ICFF will be held from 15-18 May 2010 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
