Australian architects, interior designers and product designers have one week left to get entries organised for this year’s Interior Design Excellence Awards.
The deadline for entries to IDEA 2012 has been extended by one week. The new deadline for submissions is 4pm EST Friday 1 June.
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the awards program, first launched by (inside) magazine in 2003. The program is now the country’s most successful independent awards program, attracting submissions from hundreds of practices from across Australia every year.
The IDEA program rewards excellence in interior and product design across 11 categories, with a further five special awards on offer. This year’s program features two exciting new categories: the International Project category, and the Residential Decoration category. (For more details and entry criteria view the categories and special awards pages.)
The 2012 program also sees the launch of the new Sustainability Award, which replaces the Sustainable Product and Sustainable Project categories. The Sustainability Award will be presented to one project submitted to the awards that demonstrates the most convincing application of sustainable design principles. All entries to IDEA 2012 will automatically be considered for the award, with a compulsory sustainability statement submitted with every entry.
This year’s awards will also include a new feature: the jury presentations. All shortlisted designers and/or practices will be expected to travel to Melbourne to present their project to the judging panel on 2-4 August. More details about the jury presentations will be released in July.
Entries to IDEA 2012 close 4pm EST Friday 1 June
