Interior Design Excellence Awards announces 2017 shortlisted projects

Aug 17, 2017
  • Article by Online Editor

Two hundred and fifty-three Australian projects have been shortlisted across 15 categories and two special categories in the 2017 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). The high calibre awards program is now in its 15th year and has continued to grow in scale with 2017 seeing a record number of entries.

A sold out event at Sydney’s The Ivy played host on Wednesday evening where the selection of shortlisted entries was announced.

The evening also provided the Designer of the Year entrants the chance to present their work to the jury. This year six potential winners took to the stage, including Bates Smart, Carr, Greg Natale, Matt Gibson A+D, SJB and Woods Bagot. The Designer of the Year will be announced at the Gala event being held in November this year.

Now the shortlist has been finalised, each project will be assessed by the jury with a winner and highly commended selected for each category.

HÅG Capisco chair

Few furniture designs withstand the test of time as well as the HÅG Capisco. Established as a seating icon for over 30 years, the chair is as popular and contemporary today, as the day it was launched.
