The new Dandenong High School, a project by Melbourne-based architecture firm Hayball, has been awarded the 2010 CEFPI Award for Best New Facility in the Australasia region.
The award, presented in Perth last week, recognises and encourages excellence in education facility design and is presented by the Council of Education Facilities Planners International.
Richard Leonard, director at Hayball, said the firm was thrilled with the recognition. Dandenong High School will represent Australia at the International CEFPI Awards in the US later this year and everyone who worked on the project is tremendously proud.
The project received the regional title, awarded by the Victorian Chapter of the CEFPI, last year. It has also been recognised as the Best School for 2009 by the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development.
