Moooi founders Marcel Wanders and Casper Vissers today announced the winner of the 2014 Space + Moooi Design Residency as Tom Fereday of industrial design practice Fereday Design in Sydney.

Fereday submitted the Shove chair collection for assessment and proved that his creativity coupled with technical expertise was a winning combination.

“We believe Tom’s handwriting / DNA is a fit with Moooi – he is not searching for ‘me too’ products, instead he wants to achieve something exciting and unexpected,” remarked Casper Vissers, CEO of Moooi.

Fereday will spend 2 months working at the Moooi studio in the Netherlands where he will learn about the rigours of running a successful design establishment and have the opportunity to polish his design skills.
