Brisbane Open House features ARCHI-CHAT

October 8, 2014

One of the speakers is Ian Wrightson, creative director at Wrightson Stewart, who will show how the studio adds a social dimension to its projects by exploring the theme of nostalgia.

ARCHI-CHAT offers an opportunity to talk to or seek inspiration from architects. It will consist of fast-paced, dynamic presentations from five speakers, where each speaker will have five minutes to present 20 slides, on a diverse range of architectural topics.

The scheduled times for the presentations are 11am and 1pm. Following each presentation all speakers will be available for 10 minute ARCHI-SPEED CHATS, where people can meet, discuss and ask questions of the speakers on any architecture related topics.

The ARCHI-CHAT speakers include: Ian Wrightson and Steven Stewart, Wrightson Stuart; Stuart Vokes, Owen and Vokes and Peters; Paul Worroll, Reddog Architects; and Matt Riley, TONIC Design.

Wrightson Stewart has elected to explore the theme of nostalgia – how memories both individual and shared can relate to the experience of spaces it designs for now and the future. Ian Wrightson, creative director at Wrightson Stewart, will show how the studio will often draw on our connection to childhood memories and even themes in popular culture as a means of adding a social dimension to the project it creates.

When: 10am to 1.30pm Saturday 11 October 2014
Where: 7 Hynes Street Fortitude Valley QLD 4006
