Stylecraft presents Paolo Zani’s Warli rugs

March 18, 2014

The bespoke rugs are made with special materials such as bamboo silk, linen, hemp and cactus and use traditional carpet-making techniques from north India.

In 1992, designer Paolo Zani’s collaboration with craftsmen from northern India led to the creation of special Warli rugs that use traditional carpet-making techniques coupled with contemporary designs. These rugs are now available exclusively through Stylecraft.

There are subtle changes in the height of the pile within each rug that helps add depth to the design and create a distinctive effect on the colours and patterns. The rugs are made using special materials such as bamboo silk, linen, hemp and cactus – all of which are processed without chemicals or dyes. While the rugs are available in a range of standard measurements, they can also be customised to suit any kind of décor.
