Asia’s sustainable light art festival will be held for the third time from 7 to 30 March 2014 and is now holding an open call for submissions.

The festival, which bills itself as Asia’s “first and only sustainable light art festival,” aims to create “unique, happy and heartfelt installations” that entertain while also carrying a strong sustainability message.

iLight Marina Bay is organised by Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) and the 2014 event will showcase up to 30 light art installations around the bay. Participating artists are invited to use Marina Bay and its distinctive skyline as one huge canvas, transforming the area into the biggest public art gallery in the city-state.

The closing date for submitting proposals is 8 September 2013.

Further information about the open call is available here.
