Entry to the 2013 Intergrain Timber Vision Awards has now opened, with the program inviting architects, landscape architects, interior designers and other design professionals from across Australia to showcase innovative uses of timber in residential and commercial projects.
In its fourth year running, the Awards aim to highlight the great work of industry professionals in pushing the boundaries of timber design. Categories this year include Exterior Residential, Interior Residential, Exterior Commercial and Interior Commercial.
“Each year the awards continue to build with outstanding entries across all four categories,” said Intergrain Brand Manager Krystal Brabham. “Last year was no exception, with entries showcasing striking and unique timber applications. This year we’re expecting an even higher number of entries, which illustrate the extraordinary talent of Australian architects and designers.”
“We are particularly looking for projects that move away from traditional timber applications, exuding creativity and style, while demonstrating the significant role timber plays in architectural design,” Brabham added.
Entries are to be evaluated by a judging panel consisting of Hamish Lyon, Principal & Design Director at NH Architecture (and 2012 Commercial Exterior winner); Virginia Kerridge, Principal of Virginia Kerridge Architect; Cameron Bruhn, Editorial Director at Architecture Media; and Douglas Curr, Dulux Specification & Project Services Consultant.
Winners will receive an AU$2,000 cash prize as well as an Intergrain product worth $5,000. Entries close on Friday 28 June, with winners to be announced in August at the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards Breakfast to be held in Melbourne.
