Rana Abboud has been named the winner of the 2013 National Women in Construction (NAWIC) International Women’s Day Scholarship at the organisation’s NSW Celebrations for International Women’s Day.

Sponsored by Corporate Culture, the scholarship offers $10,000 to a female in the construction industry to develop a research white paper. The scholarship’s goal is to foster cutting-edge research igniting passion and commitment for change in the industry.

Abboud’s research will investigate Architecture in an Age of Augmented Reality, AR’s Affordances for Design Visualisation, Construction Supervision and Post-Completion Maintenance.

The winner was announced by Angela Ferguson, NAWIC’s newly appointed NSW Chapter President, at last week’s sellout International Women’s Day breakfast hosted by Corporate Culture.

“The research scholarship is a unique opportunity for a woman to pursue an area of interest that will not only determine her future career path, but will help broaden her skills and network on a global scale,” says Ferguson.
