Architects Without Frontiers

Not-for-profit organisation Architects Without Frontiers Australia is appealing for funding to assist with building projects for communities in need.

Not-for-profit organisation Architects Without Frontiers (AWF) is currently running an appeal for funds that will assist current projects in the Asia Pacific region.

AWF helps improve living conditions by enlisting architects and built environment professionals to provide pro-bono assistance with building projects. These projects not only provide bricks and mortar to struggling communities, but also encourage participation from the community and prioritise sustainable outcomes.

AWF is currently running building projects in India, Nepal, Vietnam, South Africa and Australia with a range of work including schools, a disability day care centre, an arts and cultural centre and a community centre.

Donations to the organisation can be used across all projects, with even small donations making a difference to the affected communities.
* $30 can buy a solar chargable lamp for children at the AWF Anganwadi (preschools) in India
* $50 can make a bench seat or a blackboard in a school for the AWF Indlovu Community Centre in Monwabisi Park in South Africa
* $100 can install electricity and fans in a preschool or buy 10 sheets of roofing material for the AWF Anganwadi (preschools) in India
* $200 will install a water tap and plumbing or a 500-litre water tank for the Gosshing School in Nepal
* $2,000 can build a new classroom or toilet and shower complex for a school at the Dien Ban Disability Day Care Centre project in Vietnam

The organisation relies on donations of its members, companies and individuals to support these and other initiatives and provide appropriate solutions to communities in need.
