TZG’s Paddington Reservoir Gardens wins at Australian Institute of Landscape Architects NSW awards.

Paddington Reservoir Gardens has won the 2009 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects NSW Medal in Landscape Architecture.

The project, designed by JMD Design in association with Tonkin Zulaikha Greer and the City of Sydney, was described by AILA jury chair Gay Williamson as a “touchstone for urban design and place making – not just in its execution but in the creative process of the design collaboration”.

Other projects recognised at the awards included Ballast Point by McGregor Coxall; Camperdown Public Domain by Turf Design Studio, Jeppe Aagaard Andersen and Tinka Sack; and the Redfern Park Upgrade by Spackman Mossop Michaels.

The AILA said that Sydney landscape architects were currently involved in a “vibrant period of outstanding landscape urbanism,” with an impressive range of landscape projects completed across the city.
