Gresley Abas is an award-winning architectural practice operating out of two studios – one in the heart of the King Street precinct of Perth and one in the southwest of WA in Balingup. We are now hiring for the key role of taking care of our Perth studio’s financial processes.

Working within a dynamic team of professionals, you will be responsible for the financial administration of the business. Reporting to the Managing Director, the role is quite autonomous and you will be given the responsibility to ensure the accuracy of a number of databases and spreadsheets. Producing monthly financial reports for the Directors, you will have substantial experience in a business services role.

We are looking for a strong analytical mind, a forward thinker with a keen eye for detail, a highly literate communicator and 5 to 10 years’ experience in a similar role.

The role requires liaison with an external bookkeeper and accountant for the practice’s bookkeeping and ATO compliance requirements (payroll, PAYG, BAS, superannuation, payroll tax, taxable payments reporting etc.) and so advanced competence in the use of MYOB and experience in all aspects of employer obligations is essential.

Another significant aspect of this role is fully owning the financial admin processes within our project management database. You will be the go-to person for reviewing the accuracy of data for project performance reporting and the calculations and invoicing of fees to clients.

You will be responsible for developing and monitoring the practice budget, debt collection as required and the forecasting and managing of cash flow.

Systems are already in place for all of the above, you just need to bring your accuracy and good self-management skills with you and jump in!

We are looking for someone with excellent MS Excel knowledge and skills. Previous experience within architectural practice and/or an interest in design is not essential but will be highly regarded – above all we are looking for an individual who will enjoy assisting our “family” of architects to grow the business and have a positive impact on the office culture.

This role is part-time and typically takes up 3 days per week, but a full-time appointment may also be considered: we are open to hearing from you as to what more you can bring to Gresley Abas.
