Senior Interior Designer – Workplace & Residential

A medium-sized architectural and interior design practice is seeking a Senior Interior Designer with 6–8 years post-graduate experience in commercial/workplace projects.

This mid-size architectural and interior design practice is in demand for corporate and high-end residential projects both here and in Asia. They have recently won more projects with others in the pipeline and must increase their team.

This is an opportunity for a Senior Interior Designer to become part of a practice known for the high retention rate of their staff, many of whom joined as graduates and returned later in their careers after gaining different experience elsewhere. You will see real career potential in working with this practice.

You will join the Senior Associate in this key role. It offers the opportunity to work alongside them in a collaborative and collegiate environment in producing design solutions for their corporate and individual clients. You will be assisting the leader in managing a small team of interior designers and architects and mentoring younger team members.

To succeed in this role you will have gained around 6 to 8 years post-graduate AUSTRALIAN experience as an Interior Designer. It is ESSENTIAL the majority of your experience has been gained on commercial/workplace interior projects.

You will have developed a high level of concept design and space planning skills. Your strengths will be in documentation, particularly in detail documentation. It is imperitive you can demonstrate excellent skills in client presentation, presentation drawings, and communication to individual and corporate clients.

Their project scope also includes premium single residential and low/medium density residential developments. Experience in these project types would be a bonus.

CAD skills and experience at intermediate-expert level are expected; training in their CAD software is offered to those candidates requiring it. It is ESSENTIAL that you can demonstrate superior SketchUp skills.

You will need the confidence and ability to work undirected and manage others whilst the Senior Associate is overseas for 1 to 2 weeks.

The salary package is commensurate with skills and experience and in the range of around $60,000 to $75,000 per annum plus superannuation. You should be available to commence within 4 to 6 week’s time from early May.
