Unique opportunity in a leadership role in a major architectural practice for a highly experienced Health Architect/Planner up to Director level.

A well-established architectural company is seeking to expand their leadership team to capitalize on their current busy project pipeline, expand their design talent, and to contribute to the long-term future of their business.

The appropriate candidate will currently be at Senior Health Architect/Planner level and on the cusp of becoming an Associate Director – or may already be at this level or be the Director/Principal of a practice’s health portfolio. They are open-minded on the title level as their focus is on candidate’s ability and their potential to contribute to the growth of the company.

It is important that you are working in a hands-on role in health facility planning. This role requires excellent knowledge of the Australasian Health Facility Guidelines, models of care and modes of operation.

It is ESSENTIAL you are currently working with – or were recently employed by – one of the recognised specialist healthcare development design practices of Melbourne.

You will also have a developed contact base in Victoria of decision makers in the private and/or public sectors. You must already have developed a well-established and harmonious working relationship with Department of Health VIC.

The role includes the identifying and acquiring of a constant flow of work in the health sector of Victoria. A solid reputation for successfully winning projects and repeat business gained through your involvement in effective health project design will be viewed very favourably in selection of candidates.

You will need at least 10 to 15 years experience in Australia in the leadership of medium to large scale, complex acute private/public hospital new-build projects, taking them through the Feasibility Study, Master Planning, Functional Design Briefing and Schematic Design stages. Projects in this firm are then managed by a Project Leader through the subsequent stages.

You will have a proven track record of team management (internal and external), stakeholder liaison, programme control, etc. This should include high-level hands-on management of Executive Stakeholder groups and Government Executives.

Experience in designing health projects in the range of $20M – $70M range – including PPP’s & PFI’s – is essential. You will be a self-starter, show strong leadership abilities, and be adept at public speaking.

The salary package offered will be commensurate with your experience, skills and current role level. An incentive scheme based on revenue generated and/or projects introduced to the practice may be offered to the appropriate candidate.
