An exciting opportunity is available for a senior architect or interior designer, working with a well-managed architecture and interior design practice of over 100 staff nationally.

This firm has offices across Australia and is looking to expand the team based in their sleek new Sydney CBD studio near the harbour. The practice is well-established yet young and dynamic, with a profitable long-term future. They work across a range of clients in the private and public sectors, project types and scales.

The challenge and the opportunity in this role is to win the most coveted clients and design projects in the corporate design sector, and to expand and lead the Sydney team of designers to double the present number.

A very attractive new workspace in a highly desirable location in the CBD is the setting for joining a team with real team spirit. Working in a collaborative environment, the team socialises together regularly and has developed a family feel to the office.

You will have a track record of winning premium design projects, beating off challengers from the best practices in Sydney and Australia. You then deliver the project – beyond the client’s expectations.

A distinguished career in corporate design is highly regarded. You will be adept and experienced in:

  • Strategic facility planning
  • Understanding people, place and process in the workplace
  • Organisation auditing
  • Change management
  • Activity-based work style design (preferably), and
  • Stakeholder engagement and project briefing

You are likely to be presently at Associate, Associate Director or Director level; however, strong leaders in earlier stages of their careers with the above attributes will be considered too. Ideally, you have established an active and influential industry profile through teaching, writing, or giving talks at property development or design events. You must be well connected in the NSW business world – in the corporate, aged care and/or industrial sectors.

You must be able to demonstrate an active and extensive contact network that has genuine potential to generate projects. A measure of your genuine pulling power is how many of your corporate or organisational clients will follow you to a new company.

Only candidates with at least 10 years’ post-graduate Australian experience will be eligible to apply.

The role is paying a salary package of around $100,000 per annum plus superannuation – negotiable to snare the right candidate. Extras such as an iPhone and iPad will be provided.
