Did you know that the average Australian worker spends 80 percent of working hours seated? Or that the average Australian spends nine hours a day sitting? Research conducted by Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute has proven that extended periods of sedentary activity increases the risk of heart disease and type two diabetes.
On Your Feet Australia, organised by the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute, is on 11 June and is proudly presented by Schiavello.
“We are delighted to be a part of this meaningful cause to inform Australians about the health hazards of too much sitting;” says Bonnie Schiavello, marketing manager at Schiavello International. Schiavello are advocates of workplaces that focus on the health and wellness of its staff, “in creating effective work spaces, we help clients utilise intelligent furniture . . . that considers people’s holistic wellbeing.”
In support of On Your Feet Australia, Schiavello will be donating $10 to each registered team's fundraising efforts. A Krossi sit-stand desk designed by Schiavello will also be awarded to the team who fundraises the most. The Krossi sit-stand desk is a height adjustable desk solution, designed to stimulate blood flow and support health and wellbeing in the workplace.
This event intends to encourage people to "Quit the Sit and take a stand for better health,” raising funds to support heart disease and diabetes research. For more information on Krossi, visit www.schiavello.com/krossi
