The Sherman Contemporary Art Foundation presents 'Architecture and art', the first in a two-part conversation series discussing the relationship between art, architecture and public art. N's co-directors, David Burns and Sam Spurr, will host the forum of esteemed guest speakers including Urtzi Grau, Principal of Fake Industries Architectural Agonism.

N is a collective established in 2010 by David Burns, Sam Spurr, and Adrian Lahoud. N's role is to stimulate and produce original interactions with art and architecture through theoretical discussion and events. Recent N projects include collaborations with Kaldor Public Art Projects, Arts Centre Melbourne, and Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York.

David Burns is a Sydney based American architect, curator, and artist. He has taught at universities as well as schools of design, art, and architecture in the US and Australia. He is the Director of Photography and Situated Media at the University of Technology, Sydney.

Sam Spurr is a theorist and designer whose work involves architecture, academia, writing, and curatorship. Her doctorate ‘Performative Architecture’ examines the relations between performance and spatial design processes. Sam is a senior lecturer at UNSW Art and Design and a research fellow in architecture at the University of Adelaide.
