Taringa Transit Oriented Development is a mixed-use development of approximately 40,000sqm of GFA. The design opens up the podium level to the interaction of people, built forms and landscape, encouraging people to slow down and relate to their surroundings. Embracing the pedestrian circulation paths has manifested in an articulation of the built forms, which has allowed for more retail frontage. The injection of commercial spaces between those used for retail has increased the dynamics of the space and public interface.
The development contains 3,000sqm of retail over three levels of terraced ground plane, 26,000sqm of commercial space within a podium network and two towers above (including possible medical-related commercial, general office, gym and childcare facilities), and 10,000sqm of community use. The project will be linked to Taringa Railway Station, and is estimated to be worth $180m.
