Oscar & Wild is a woman’s fashion boutique in Camberwell, Victoria, stocking clothes and accessories sourced from locations such as Iran, Dubai and Morocco as well as designs from celebrated Australian and international brands.
The fitout takes its design lead from the flagship Oscar & Wild store, which was heavily influenced by the exotic style of Persia – and features a beautiful Moorish door arch sourced from Morocco. The new store reinterprets this idea of the doorway throughout the interior, while the decorative latticework of the Arabic Mashrabiya screen has been transformed into a contemporary motif that adorns the walls and ceiling.
A sequence of arches reference the old souks of Morocco. Lining the sides of the store, the gold arches appear to continue into the distance – reflected in mirrored walls at the side and back of the fitout. Patterned infill panelling allows light in and out of the openings, recreating the effect of filtered light streaming through the roof of the Moroccan souk.
Colour is used boldly in order to create a vibrant and dynamic new identity for the brand. The space is warm and light, with gold unashamedly taking centre stage.
The Danish bar stools were originally produced in the mid 1950s and are the first to be released in Workspace’s new 'Origin’s Collection'.
