Our proposal for the National Police Memorial on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin draws on the strength of Griffins axial vision for the nations capital. Three axes generate an asymmetrical plan established by the triangulated plan of the adjacent Carillon.
The crystal-like form of the Wall-of-light shades visitors whilst gathering energy to serve the NPM site. It defines the Gallery-of-Reflection, which visitors must enter to fully engage with the fallen. In this seemingly unstable space light dances off the water across various surfaces defining a fluid volume symbolising the unpredictable nature of Police work.
