The concept store for OPSM is, at 1,500sqm, the largest optical retail store in the Asia Pacific region. The design of the split-level interior is based around the shape of an eye, with the retail and product area in the main section and consulting rooms on the upper level, with refreshment area and PCs for customer use.
The design includes two in-store simulators and a wind room fitted with an exercise bike and a treadmill, enabling customers to test their glasses for cycling and running. A lens wall simplifies lens purchasing, while a product vault offers exclusive designs for VIP visits. The store also features a kids educational area, with ‘eyeball chairs’ and colourful foam blocks running around the edges of the room. Enclosed eye pods include facts about eyes, making the area a learning zone for children.
The store design and use of technology is all incorporated to enhance the customer’s experience. Seven themed optometry rooms with state-of-the-art medical technology are accompanied by a wide range of touch screens and digital mirrors.
