The Ocean Room harbour-front restaurant has been transformed with a contemporary renovation by award-winning designer Yasumichi Morita to reflect the Ocean Room philosophy: Japanese traditions meeting the modern world.
The interior is meticulously crafted from the soaring curved ceiling feature to the series of port-hole light features inset in the walls. Drawing upon ancient wooden elements and a grand chandelier motif, Ocean Room evokes a sense of old-world grandeur while also providing a glamorous, intimate dining space.
The restaurants signature chandelier installation consists of over 3,000 miniature wooden cylinders, fitted together like a giant hanging puzzle. Ocean Rooms floor to ceiling glass windows maximize on the restaurants stunning location, giving diners spectacular views of Sydneys iconic harbour.
Morita, from Japanese design firm Glamorous, has designed more than 300 world class restaurants and bars throughout Asia. This is his first venture on Australian soil, and is a collaborative project with restaurant group Zetton.

Few furniture designs withstand the test of time as well as the HÅG Capisco. Established as a seating icon for over 30 years, the chair is as popular and contemporary today, as the day it was launched.
