This project began in 2006 as a residential warehouse fit-out of the former Golden Crust Bakery in Armadale, Melbourne. The building was in a state of serious deterioration and under threat of demolition as it was not protected by any heritage overlays.
However, the clients were attracted to the building and its potential to meet the accommodation requirements for their large family. The bakery was retained in the design, in order to keep the existing streetscape that was valued in the neighbourhood. The interior was reinvigorated with careful attention to appropriate detailing that preserves and enhances the semi-industrial aesthetic, breathing new life into the original fabric of the building.

Drainage is often the forgotten workhorse of the building and design function. Yet drainage maintains a simple albeit vital purpose.
