Interior Design: Fame Agenda Docklands

The design for Fame Agenda introduces concepts of transparency and illusion, playing on the perspective of the ‘arcade’. The random and organic set of arches, inspired by Thomas Heatherwick’s sculptural works, merge to form a cave-like enclosure from within the confines of the rectilinear shell. The arches draw the visitor into the awkward L-shaped plan of the space, with mirrored cladding and a simple black gloss used on background walls providing a seemingly infinite depth. As well as covering the existing structural piers, the arches also provide merchandising benches, walls and ceilings in the shop’s interior.

A strong architectural form is used to present the brand, with a balance of rudimentary and slick materials providing an honest interior that does not overpower the products. OSB panelling makes up the structure, creating a strong visual statement at low cost.
