The recently completed 3000sqm office fitout for Cue Clothing provides a new headquarters, design studio and showroom space for the fashion house. The office is located on Holt Street in Sydney’s Surry Hills, a suburb with a rich history in the rag trade that is now home to a bustling design scene.

The fitout reflects Cue’s brand position as a progressive organisation, evolving the office from that of a traditional design studio while still embracing Cue’s heritage. The new space offers greater connectivity between individuals and departments in order to encourage mentoring, creativity and business growth. The concept has evolved from the idea of ‘threads of connection’. From the entry area, visual and physical connections to other areas within the organisation creates integration across the two-floor tenancy, taking you on a journey of the Cue and Veronika Maine brands – with the showrooms at the pinnacle.

Honest materials with layers of luxe and texture complement the brands. The idea of pattern-making has been adapted for the fitout, with key built elements defining the space. The open-plan studio can be concealed or revealed, offering flexibility in the workplace. The detailed joinery elements are inspired by the pure, clean lines of the Cue aesthetic.
