This project involved a strong collaboration between the South Australian Government, University of South Australia and Department of Environment and Heritage. It is the only Ancient DNA facility in the southern hemisphere, and only one of three worldwide. The project includes a DNA laboratory and office accommodation housed in the heritage listed Botanical Gardens Tram Barn. The laboratory areas required a very high level of technical consultation, with JPE providing a unique solution that satisfied the stringent contamination requirements, with a strong emphasis on natural light, colour and a design quality.
