PTA are currently in the process of developing an all new urban and architectural concept called Biospace, a futuristic Eco City.

The Cycle of Life, closely linked to our most precious resource, formalises this urban extension above a city railyard. Composed of five blocks interconnected by a rainforest atrium, pedestrians are free to wander the whole of the ground level through public spaces designed as a plateau, canyon or valley.

Optimum circulation and spatial interaction, rain water recycling, river network and roof top gardens, integrated silent wind turbines and solar panels work together with the natural climate to replicate the role of a tropical forest within the Biospace City.

The design contains various natural metaphors such as “movement” and “evolution” to express the global theme of the natural “cycle of life” (birth – growth). Strong natural references emanate from the wave body shape of the different buildings. The metaphor of Embryo and germinating seed is expressed in the building forms, connecting through the dynamic atrium’s structural lines.

The objective here is to achieve a global system of architectural design where the integration of environmental solutions and building design recreates the natural environment
