Cylk installation

April 30, 2013

Studio Twocan’s unique installation for Cylk’s South Yarra store fuses design, sculpture and fashion with a cascading assortment of origami modules.

Inspired by the form and colour of the AW13 Cylk collection, Studio Twocan have envisaged a unique installation that fuses design, sculpture and fashion. Cylk’s flagship store on Chapel Street, Melbourne, has been filled with cascading origami modules that, with a gradient of coloured paper arcing through the space, conveys a natural sense of movement. The use of origami as a production method, along with PEFC Australian-made paper, pays tribute to the craftsmanship of Cylk garments, while also referencing the brand’s commitment to raw elements and natural fibres. Reflecting the range’s digitally printed fabrics, crystal and rock formations and stalactite shards of paper also inhabit the space, creating a majestic cave in which the Cylk customer can explore.

Installation in collaboration with Spicers Paper Optix range.
