Rush House

December 6, 2012

A contemporary addition to a 1950s dwelling, the Rush House provides a young family with a flexible arrangement of living spaces.

A contemporary addition to a 1950s dwelling, the Rush House provides a young family with a flexible arrangement of living spaces, whilst preserving the character of the existing building. The physical and visual connection between internal and external living spaces has been thoughtfully crafted facilitating a healthy, naturally ventilated indoor environment, and a safe and social outdoor space.

The new wing is positioned thoughtfully to maintain natural light and privacy for the existing rooms, and wraps around a mature Liquidambar tree – shading a new outdoor living area.
