Bill’s Bar

August 22, 2012

Russell & George create a speakeasy-inspired drinking den for Bill’s Bar in Collingwood.

Personable and mellow, Bill’s Bar is a new, speakeasy-inspired bar hidden away on Collingwood’s Smith Street.

Owned by the same team behind Huxtable Restaurant and the Huxtaburger, Bill’s Bar sits in the tenancy beside the burger joint. Embracing the speakeasy influence, the bar is entered via a secret doorway in Huxtaburger – concealed behind one-way mirrors.

Inside, Bill’s is relaxed, with an aesthetic akin to that of Huxtable, also designed by Russell & George. A full-height angular shelving unit made from timber provides storage for wine bottles, while relaxed seating in tan and pale green leather complements the natural wood finishes. In the bar, a diamond motif in grey, black and mirror recalls the black and white diamond tiled walls in Huxtaburger.
