Railway Cocktail Bar

July 19, 2012

Bright colours and bold graphics work together in the design for this bar in Windsor, designed by Mr Mitchell Interiors.

The interior for the Railway Cocktail Bar draws inspiration from the colourful local graffiti and tattoo art so prolific to the neighbourhood of Windsor, Melbourne.

Featuring striking graphics by Studio Equator, the light boxes that appear inside the bar and outside on the deck are the focus of the design. Striped mirror panels – inspired by the work of fashion designer Paul Smith – clad the face of the bar, and the walls inside the bathrooms. Above the bar, a light box incorporates the circuit boards used in the main bar pendants, while green flocked table lamps add a touch of whimsy.
