Interior Design: Alannah Hill Head Office

February 2, 2011

David Hicks adorns a raw, industrial warehouse space with slick, feminine details for the head office of fashion label Alannah Hill.

This once redundant warehouse has been transformed into the Head Office for fashion label Alannah Hill. The shell of the building has been structurally upgraded, but the period features and the building’s sense of self has been retained.

The new insertions contrast the original features, with slick detail and finishes adding a polished edge. The raw and industrial backdrop to the sumptuous additions creates a theatrical backdrop in keeping with the client’s style. Space was maximised and a decorative theme was introduced to soften the hard edges and modernist detail of the new elements. The combination of old and new is beautiful and modern, yet still a little fragile.
