Un-built: Cow Shed, Glebe

October 15, 2010

A converted cow shed turns into a dramatic residential space with this un-built project from carterwilliamson.

This old cow shed in Glebe had an existing Roman Courtyard house plan and sunny north courtyard. The design includes an additional room on top and is liberally splashed with light. The house is protected from the harsh sun and the dramatic space is emphasised. The old rustic brick walls and old sliding gate will remain in the design and the Jacaranda tree will also stay on the site. The house will combine tough robust materials and will have no paint and limited trades.
