Interior Design: Henry Davis York

May 10, 2010

Futurespace’s fresh, modern fitout is seamlessly integrated into this heritage 1930s Art Deco building.

The biggest challenge in this project was to integrate a fresh, modern fitout into an existing Art Deco space that was dark and traditional. The client floor was replanned to include training facilities and additional meeting rooms, while the heritage York room was reinvigorated to create a more functional environment that remained sensitive to its history.

Kitchen facilities were upgraded to accommodate further meeting areas, and acoustics were planned to allow for the noise created by the existing stone floor. The interior references the bold Art Deco heritage of the building, ensuring that the new design is seamlessly integrated into the 1930s building.
