Interior Design: South Yarra Apartment

March 24, 2010

Chelsea Hing Design Consultants’ apartment fitout takes cues from the clients’ art collection, and the surrounding architecture.

This client had long wished to own a Neometro apartment and commissioned CHDC to select all of the furniture, rugs and lamps and consult on placement of artworks. Referencing from the artwork, we selected bold colours and pieces to work with the strong architectural envelope yet still hold their own. All elements were lifted up off the floor to maximise the compact spaces.

This was a decoration project rather than design, was it not?

    Yep, rug scattering.
