Un-built: LSA Brisbane office

December 18, 2009

A contemporary office design featuring a faceted metal ceiling reflecting the client’s gold mining history, designed by GroupGSA.

A faceted metal ceiling will feature prominently in the reception of Lihir Services Australia (LSA)’s new office premises at 400 George Street in Brisbane, setting a new benchmark in contemporary workplace design.

The design team at GroupGSA spearheaded the design comprising approximately 3,000 sqm over the 31st and 32nd floors of Brisbane’s latest five-star green star rated, A-grade commercial space, where LSA has committed to a 10 year lease term.

LSA’s vision was to create a cost-effective, sophisticated and understated fit-out which would stand the test of time and reflect the company’s stability and strength in the marketplace. The design subtly highlights the core operations of the company through the use of natural elements including stone and timber in the reception area as well as key features such as the faceted reception ceiling, reminiscent of the mining effect on stone.

LSA’s new office premises will incorporate a more open plan and flexible office concept, featuring a light-filled staff cafe and approximately 20 offices over two levels linked by an interconnecting staircase.
