The Stair

November 20, 2009

A narrow terrace property is given a slim, twisting staircase, which unravels to reveal a contemporary living space below.

This existing terrace property received little natural light, and had constricted stairs and circulation, with an outdated room layout. Improved vertical circulation was essential for the scheme. The project celebrates this circulation with an ornamental stair, opening up the centre of the terrace to light, changing internal vistas and art display. The ground floor has been re-planned for family living and to extend into the courtyard.
